JCT – Junior Cycle for Teachers
Junior Cycle for Teachers (JCT) is a dedicated continuing professional development (CPD) support service of the Department of Education and Skills. Their aim is to support schools in their implementation of the new Framework for Junior Cycle (2015) through the provision of appropriate high quality CPD for school leaders and teachers, and the provision of effective teaching and learning resources.
NCCA – National Council for Curriculum and Assessment
The NCCA advises the Minister for Education and Skills on curriculum and assessment for early childhood education, primary and post-primary schools and assessment procedures used in schools and examinations on subjects which are part of the curriculum.
PDST – Professional Development Service for Teachers
The PDST is the country’s largest single support service offering professional learning opportunities to teachers and school leaders in a range of pedagogical, curricular and educational areas.
CSL – Centre for School Leaders
A partnership between the Irish Primary Principals Network and the National Association for Principals and Deputy Principals IPPN/NAPD. The Centre for School Leaders works toward the development of a coherent continuum of professional development for school leaders.
NAPD – National Association of Principals and Deputy Principals
Represents principals and deputy principals at second level. The organisation has a network of nine regional branches and a range of sub-committees working on specific areas of education
NCSE – National Council for Special Education
The National Council for Special Education (NCSE) was set up to improve the delivery of education services to persons with special educational needs arising from disabilities with particular emphasis on children.
OECD – Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development
