Education and Training Boards Ireland welcomed more than 300 people to Cork City Hall to host its Annual Conference and explored the theme, ‘The ETB of the Future’. Our six panel discussions considered topics such as:

  • Technology & Artificial Intelligence
  • Pathways & Connections
  • Future Skills & Innovation
  • Inclusion & Special Education
  • Resilience & Human Connection

Speakers during the two day event included; Secretary General of the Department of Education Bernie McNally, Minister for State Niall Collins, disability activist Joanne O’Riordan and Former Governor of Mountjoy Prison John Lonergan. See the full agenda and list of speakers here.

The conference was closed by a mammoth performance created by Artistic Director Ger Canning and saw the ETB Anthem winners perform their song, Find Your People.


ETBI was delighted with the vast amount of coverage achieved which included;

Seven pieces of national coverage including The Irish Times and the Irish Examiner. Radio interviews on key prime-time slots on the Pat Kenny Show, Newstalk, and Drivetime, RTÉ Radio 1. All this coverage was accompanied by 44 pieces of local news.

ETB Anthem Winners

Ten learners from Cork ETB’s National Learning Network took to the stage at the ETBI Annual Conference to premiere a song they composed that had been chosen by Riverdance composer Bill Whelan, rapper MuRli and RTE’s Ellen Cranitch as the anthem of more than 340,000 learners across Ireland’s 16 Education and Training Boards (ETBs).
